Artist statement

Ilario Caliendo cerca di analizzare le stranezze e le fobie della vita sociale contemporanea, con un occhio di riguardo all’abuso della rete e alla dipendenza dai social media.
I suoi lavori indagano in vari settori quali il copyright, nuove forme artistiche, il trash, peculiarità e allucinazioni visive. Il suo approccio richiama l’atteggiamento poetico e attivista dell’hacker tradizionale e usa l’ironia come mezzo di riflessione.

Ilario Caliendo tries to analyze the quirks and phobias of contemporary social life, with an ‘eye to the abuse of the network and the addiction on social media.
His works investigate various areas such as copyright, new art forms, trash, strange things and visual hallucinations.
His approach recalls the poetic and activist hacker traditional attitude using irony as a means of reflection.
